Dealing With Service And Repairs For Your Tractor Or Other Equipment

Posted on: 6 May 2021

If you own a farm of any size, the equipment you use daily is critical to doing the things required. A farm tractor is used for nearly every task on the farm, so having a farm tractor service that can come and work on your equipment may be the best way to ensure it is running when you need it.

Maintenance And Service

It is not uncommon for farm owners to learn the basic skills that allow them to change the oil, grease tractors and equipment, and perform some of the maintenance required to keep equipment running at its best. Major breakdowns or jobs that require specific tools and equipment may require outside help, and a tractor service that can come to the farm and help make repairs is often the best solution.

Most tractor services have a truck filled with tools and parts that they will bring to your location to help you with repairs that you can't do on your own. The tractor service will often have air tools, a welder, and most of the equipment available in the shop on the truck when they arrive.

Breakdowns rarely happen in the garage, so sometimes these services will have to work on the tractor in the field or make repairs that will allow the tractor to be moved back to the farm so they can work on it in a shed or at least on solid ground and not in a plowed field.

Dealer Service

Moving the tractor to your local dealership can sometimes be difficult, and if you are a long distance from the shop, it often means putting the equipment on a low boy trailer and towing it to the shop with a semi-truck. Anytime you can avoid that cost and the time away from the farm is beneficial, so dealers that have a tractor service can be essential.

Often the tech that comes to the farm to work on your equipment is factory certified and can help with warranty work and recall work, and they have the tools and resources to handle just about anything required. Call the local dealer for your farm tractor and ask about mobile tractor service in your area if you need it.

Major repairs still require the equipment to go into the shop, but a tech coming to your location to look over the situation first is an excellent place to start. The repairs may be something that will require parts that the tech must order, or it could be something that they can fix temporarily to get you through the season and then take the tractor to the dealership during your downtime.
